Shift Theme

A recent positive trend that I like, is for developers to base their RapidWeaver themes on Bootstrap, Foundation or Pure, allowing us to build websites that seamlessly transition from Desktop to mobile view without having to forfeit valuable information. Shift from WeaverThemes is one of those themes.Nicely minimalistic with a flat, modern design, Shift is based on a grid system that allows content to reflow and fit any screen size, whilst maintaining a stylishly clean appearance.

Shift’s cleanliness is partially due to the six modern custom fonts that have been included with the theme, although this reviewer feels that, at 12 px maximum size, the font sizes are way too small.Optional animations, triggered by scroll events, immediately capture your visitors attention, by sliding or bouncing introductions into view. A series of basic animations are included and the ambitioned beginner can expand on them by visiting Animate.css.

Shift includes four resourceful Extra Content [EC] areas that can be activated on standard RapidWeaver pages by using snippets. One of the EC areas is in the banner area, one below the banner, and two at the bottom of the page. Snippets are included for the addition of multiple columns to the extra content. It should be mentioned that EC area 1 can easily conform to latest trends by featuring video, while area 3 is programmed to contain a static background image.
